Every terrorist act entails serious consequences such as numerous victims, death of people, spiritual, financial and social destruction and damage of cultural monuments that can’t be rebuilt during centuries. Today the problem of terrorism has become particularly dangerous, and at last people of all countries are ready to forget all political conflicts and to unite in the fight against innocent people killing. So, the UNO adapted the number of laws and conventions that regulate and control the fight against terrorism.

The modern psychology that pays attention to terrorism problem usually works in two directions. The first one is to explain the essence and the nature of terrorism and the second one is to give the effective ways of fighting the terrorist threat.

Nowadays terrorist acts have become the usual thing and people from all parts of the world are afraid to become the victims of the terrorism. And when we come home we are afraid to turn the TV set and to listen to the latest news as it may tell us about the next terrorist act.

On September 11, 2001 people were watching their TV sets when their favourite shows and films were interrupted by the urgent news that told people about the tragedy that happened in New York City in the USA. People couldn't believe their eyes as the TV screen showed two towers of the World Trade Centre falling burying thousands of people under their huge stones.

But this was only the part of the series of terrorist acts as 9/11 was the result of the series of terrorist acts well-coordinated and well-planned with the suicides terrorists. According to official version, the responsibility for these acts was taken by the Islamic terrorist organization al Quaeda. Its participants attacked four planes, two of which were directed to the two towers of the World Trade Centre that collapsed in the result of the collision with the planes, the third one hit the pentagon and the fourth was directed to Washington but as passengers regained control, this plane crashed in the field.

There were about 3000 dead people that included people who died in the planes, people who died in the World Trade Centres and in New York in the result of the towers collapse. This is the hugest tragedy of the 21st century and we feel sorry for every victim.
