Terrorism during Medieval times

The dark period of medieval times was the period of the highest point of terrorism and terror. Violence was flourishing. And the institute that tried to limit the violence manifestations was the Christianity church. It formed and developed the conceptions of the just war and the rules of war. The reflection of these conceptions was the knight code of honour that proclaimed the humane attitude to the enemy. But of course these rules and such attitude didn't influence the number of victims and dead people during the wars of medieval times.

The first terrorist organization was the sect sicaria that was acting in Palestine in the first century AC and killed the representatives of the Jewish aristocracy that supported the establishment of peace with the Romans. The activity of this group is the combination of religious fanaticism and political terrorism.

At the same time there were a lot of secret groups on the territory of India. The members of different sects damaged their victims with the help of silk lace considering this way of killing to be the ritual sacrifice to the goddess Kali.

The same ideology had the members of sects of Muslims. They killed all people who occupied ruling posts. The killing was the ritual. They appreciated martyrdom and the death in the name of the idea and believed in the establishment of new world order. The classical example of such ideas and the violence practice and the war was the sect Assasins. By the way many languages of the world got the word "asesino" or "asesinato" from this denomination. It usually means the killer or the killing. English got the word "assassination".
