Terrorism and terror
The term "terrorism" comes from the term "terror" and these two notions are interconnected. Terrorism doesn't have so wide meaning and terror is the generic term.
Terror is the way of the society manipulation with the help if intimidation. This method may be used by both the political and social organizations and governmental branches of ruling. During many years the tactics of preventive intimidation not depending on the kind of the perpetrator was named with one term that was "terror".
During 1970-1980 the difference between terms terror and terrorism was made. Today terror is non-legal violence of the governmental organs in society in general or opposition in particular. And terrorism is considered to be the violence practice that is made by the governmental powers that fight with each other and other organizations.
Terror is based on violence and is achieved with the help of demonstrative physical depression of different active opponents with the aim to frighten and make others refuse to fight against the power. It is necessary to mention that terror is the politics of preventive violence and this distinguishes it from the most violent repressions. And the governmental power that wants to change radically the norms uses terror. Terror is used in the cases of revolutions, wars, the establishment of democracy, etc. and it is usually accompanied with the opposition of a great number of people.
